Book: God Storys: Told By a Daughter of the Most High King

Author: Victorya Wright

Genre: Non-Fiction; Inspirational

Release Date: October 14, 2025

Do you have a personal mantra that guides you? Have you ever felt God’s presence so strongly that it seemed as if He was right beside you? Do you seek His wisdom when faced with tough decisions?

For me, my constant prayer is “Not in my own strength, Lord. Not in my own strength. Guide me. Direct me. Help me.” Since childhood I have experienced God’s undeniable presence, leading me in ways both profound and personal. There are moments when I turn, expecting to see someone beside me, only to realize it is His unseen nearness. When uncertainty arises, I seek clarity through prayer and my own version of the ancient Thummim and Urim – trusting Him to reveal the way forward. God Storys is a compilation of 30 true, standalone vignettes that testify to these Divine encounters – extraordinary moments that are not mere coincidences, but God-instances. May these stories inspire you, strengthen your faith, and open your eyes to His presence in your own life.

About the Author

Born at Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles during one of the city’s largest earthquakes, I took my first breath as the building swayed and the gurney rolled – my parents recount a dramatic beginning marked by both chaos and grace. Life since then has been rich with God’s goodness, meaningful relationships, and profound learning. It has also brought seasons of hardship, loss and shame – yet grace has always abounded.  I am the mother of seven children, two of whom are already in heaven. My five God-fearing, compassionate, and well-educated adult children live in five U. S. states. My greatest joy is spending time with them and my 14 adorable grandchildren. I have spent most of my life working in healthcare and continue to serve part time in my orofacial myofunctional therapy private practice in San Diego County and beyond. I am passionate about proclaiming all that God has done.

More from Victorya

I have been asked, “What is the purpose of this book? I believe that the answer to that question lies in the fact that you are holding this book in your hands and reading these God storys. That is not a coincidence; it is another God incidence. I do not believe in coincidence. I believe that our lives and our world are beautifully orchestrated by a very personal, very relational Creator.

This book is not about me; it is not about spiritual one-upmanship. This book is all about Him … about having a relationship with Him. I am an ordinary person; I am an ordinary Christian. I am merely His scribe writing out of obedience. Even the cover and subtitle of this book reflect God storys. I photographed the sunset from my front door before this book was ever written. The song that I refer to “The Truth”, reflects our royal relationship with Him as our King. The lock on the cover is to be unlocked as you explore your own relationship with Him, the God Who breathed life into our nostrils.

Interview with Victorya

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I grew up watching my mother be a prolific writer and a reader/editor for the local junior college’s English department. Initially her writing was journaling and letter writing and later on in her life she wrote and illustrated a children’s book that she never officially published. I believe because of those observations early on in my life that I assumed that writing was just part of living and writing was never anything that was perceived as difficult or daunting. In elementary school, I enjoyed Spelling Bees and that grew into a love for words. I had favorite words because of how they sounded when pronounced and how they rolled off of my tongue when spoken. For me, my like for words naturally transitioned into a like for writing. In my youth I wrote poetry. As I got older, I journaled about my days and thoughts in a diary and exchanged letters with an international Pen Pal in Brazil. Writing became an important method of communication in my relationships. In my adult life, I journaled my God Storys as they occurred. It was about 10 years ago when God directed me to actually write out those stories. Hence, from that, my first book was, written, published …”Born”!

What would you say is the most difficult part of writing a book?

The most challenging part of writing my/His book was twofold. The first challenging part was being vulnerable. I am a very private person and sharing my God stories, rather His God stories, was initially out of my comfort zone. Secondly, it took me years to prioritize the time to go and write out the stories that God had created in my average, humble life. When I finally obeyed His directive, the stories flowed into place.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

I live an abundant life. No two days of my life are the same. My priority is to have balance in areas of spirituality, relationships, health and my work. For my spirituality, I appreciate my church family. They are strong in applicating God’s Word and implementing His command of hospitality. In addition, I intentionally practice Stillness [Psalm 46:10], when I spend alone time in fellowship and prayer with God, particularly on the sand at the Pacific Ocean. I prioritize relationships, spending time with family and friends and being intentional to listen and serve. My work for the past decade has been as an orofacial myofunctional therapist, in private practice in three offices in north San Diego County, in addition to virtual sessions out of state and internationally. I retrain the muscles of the oral cavity and the face and integrate orofacial myofunctional exercises, habits elimination, breathing, and posture, to help eliminate or improve oral facial myofunctional disorders. I recently had a total hip replacement which previously had partially curtailed my mobility. I am looking forward to more mobility and activity, and my favorite exercise of swimming. In addition to everything that I have already mentioned, I enjoy World Travel. I particularly enjoy going places where I can witness the awe and wonder of God’s majestic creation.

What does your family think of your writing?

I have 5 adult children living in five different U.S. states. Three sons and two daughters. Four are married. I am abundantly blessed with 15 grandchildren, with two already in heaven. All of my sons and daughters including my sons in laws and daughters in laws are enthusiastic and supportive of my/His book. My sons have specifically told me that they are proud of me. My middle son thanked me for writing the book for our future generation. My youngest son is engaged to be married and his fiancée sent me a card after reading the book with these sentiments, “Victorya, … I wanted to let you know that I have read and finished your book. Congratulations on it! I enjoyed reading it. It was fun to read and see photos of some of the people you shared about when I was in Southern California. It was also really nice to learn more about you, your story and read how faithful the Lord is and has been throughout your life. My favorite chapter was “Madison”. The not so random divine encounter of a bank call to friendship! I found it so sweet and pure. Cannot wait to hear or maybe read more stories! All the best. E.”

Any current or upcoming projects you’d like to tell us about?
I am chuckling, rolling my eyes, and sucking my teeth at this question because it has been asked of me countless times since my/His book was released in October. I typically respond that I need to wean this baby before considering having another! However, God did make me a creative person with a vibrant imagination. I have to admit that I might consider a God Storys Volume II, since He has already completed many of those stories already in my life and they could also be proclaimed. I am considering writing and illustrating children’s books with spiritual themes in life applications. Let’s see what, when, and how He directs me in the future.
