Charlie Newberg is sure about one thing: Nicole Lemaire is the woman God wants him to marry. There’s a slight problem, though—he’s already left her once. The day before their wedding. To make a documentary.

But he’s got a plan. The marketing firm she works for is the ideal choice for promoting his new film. Collaborating will give him the perfect chance to propose again, so he conspires with her boss to make sure she runs the campaign for the same kind of documentary Charlie left her—basically at the altar—for.

Despite Nicole’s resistance, the two work well together. But Charlie’s going to need more than teamwork to convince the jilted bride to give him a second chance. In fact, he might need to fall in love in a way he’s never really understood.

My Thoughts

Fiancé Finale is the last book in the Love Off Script series from Angela Ruth Strong. I’ve read each book, and I think Fiancé Finale is my favorite. Meri and Gemma’s stories were fun and had Spiritual depth, but Charlie’s story… Charlie’s story blew me away. I laughed. Boy, did I laugh. As expected, but I also cried… reading a romcom. Charlie looks at the world in such an honest, logical, straightforward way that he often misses the obvious and misunderstands the heart. Honestly shocked that his half-baked proposal goes awry, he sets out to woo his former fiancé for a second… or third… time. But Nicole has a wound that all his last ditch efforts just make worse. I can relate to Nicole’s sorrows, and it touched me in a very real way. The ending was perfect… and beautiful… and yes, I cried again.

Charlie must learn what it truly means to love someone. And Nicole has to realize how loved she really is… by the perfect One. If you want a romcom that goes deeper than just romantic fluff, I highly recommend this series. Strong captures the truth of romantic love and God’s love is an absolutely perfect way.
