More from Dana
What a challenge to write the eighth book in this fabulous Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit series! Writing a continuity (linked books with an overarching mystery) with seven other authors requires us to work closely together which is a rare blessing in this solitary business. There were so many good conversations, emails and texts that went into the construction of this series. Since wilderness escape novels are my favorite, it was great fun to write Tanner, Mara and Boxer Britta’s dramatic survival story. I hope you enjoy the book and the entire series as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you!
Interview with Dana
What book is currently on your bedside table?
Well, it’s not technically on my table yet, but I just returned from the ACFW conference where I heard Charles Martin deliver the keynote address so I’m eager to snag a book of his to put on my TBR pile.
Can you share with us something about the book that isn’t in the blurb?
There is a very tender side to the hero, a deep loss he’s experienced, in spite of his faith and stalwart prayers. I think that’s an important aspect of faith to examine, how we handle our lives in Christ when we face profound sorrow.
What were the highlight or key challenges you faced when writing this book?
The “running for your life in the wilderness” notion comes with some challenges, for sure. Mostly, how to connect to the wider cast of characters when we’ve only got the hero and heroine’s POV, and they’re lost in the snow with no connection to the outside world. Tricky, right?
Where can readers find out more about you and your books?
They are invited to jump onto my Amazon author page. That has most of the goodies in one tidy spot.

Any current or upcoming projects you’d like to tell us about?
I was thrilled to be given a contract to write a bigger book for the Love Inspired Trade program. It’s an edge of your seat survival story that takes place in the wilds of Yosemite during a catastrophic earthquake. It’s entitled Trapped in Yosemite, and it comes out in February. So exciting!
