Love Like No Other Blog Tour with Celebrate Lit (Interview with Tabitha Bouldin)

About the Book

Book: Love Like No Other

Author: Tabitha Bouldin

Genre: Christian Contemporary Suspense

Release Date: June 27, 2023

Trying to overcome a past like hers might just help him overcome his.

Alicia Gray wants one thing: to prove her capabilities as a doctor. Maybe then she can escape the feeling that her mother’s abandonment was deserved. She’s never felt worthy and grew up in foster home after foster home, always being told that if she did better, if she was more amenable, she’d find her place. When she came to Suamalie, the last thing she expected to find was a man whose grumpy personality conflicted so piercingly with her sunshine demeanor.

Colin Tremblay was dishonorably discharged from his army medic position and sent home in disgrace after his twin brother stole from his clinic. Back on the islands, he’s bounced from job to job, never finding anything that satisfies him. To make matters worse, his twin niece and nephew convince him to spend his summer overseeing their camp activities while working alongside Little Miss Sunshine herself.

This grumpy versus sunshine romance is sure to send them both scrambling when Colin confronts Alicia’s need to please while she reminds Colin that not every bad day is a reason to run for the hills.

Take a trip to the Suamalie Islands where palm trees sway, the sand and sea pulse with life, and the people will steal your heart.Click here to get your copy!

More from Tabitha

When it came time to write my Suamalie Island book, I knew it was time for me to head back to the place I love best. It was time to bring back the cowboys. Colin might not be a cowboy in his own mind, after all, he left the ranch and worked for years as an Army medic and wants nothing more than to help people as a way to make up for not being able to save his brother when he needed it most. Alicia, the island’s resident mobile doctor, feels the same way. You would think that these two would manage to get along since they both want the same thing. Not so. They disagreed on almost everything. From a personality perspective, they couldn’t be more different. Alicia is sunshine and rainbows to Colin’s storm clouds. The one thing they can agree on is helping others, and when things get tough, Colin is the one person who Alicia finds she can trust to follow through and not back down from the hard aspects like throws their way. And threaded through it all is Colin’s cowboy past and the heart that carried him across the battlefield and back to the islands he’s always called home.

Interview with Tabitha

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Loyal. Introvert. Sarcastic.

Those three things are my heartbeat and the creature God designed in His infinite wisdom. I don’t pretend to understand it, but that’s who I am. Sarcasm is my love language. If I’m comfortable enough with you that I show my sarcastic side (because introvert level 100 is also me) then you know that you’ve made a friend. And I’m loyal almost to my detriment.

What has been your favorite part of the publishing journey?

I love learning and being an author has given me the chance to push myself not only to learn about writing but about the journey itself. Knowledge is wonderful, even when it teaches me that I’ve done everything backward and need to start over from scratch or that I can change as a writer. Learning and processing what it means to be a writer/author is freeing even as it’s terrifying.

What is the key theme and/or message in the book?

That’s a tough one to answer. I don’t usually go into a book knowing what its theme will be, though I am getting better at discovering that before I fully finish the story. For Love Like No Other, I’d have to say the theme is grace. Colin and Alicia both have issues that they’re trying to overcome, and they both discover the need to grant themselves grace as they grow not only as people but as Christians. They realize they’re going to make mistakes and that grace can carry them through.

Where can readers find out more about you and your books?

I’m here, there, and a little bit of everywhere from Facebook to TikTok. I share the most often on Facebook and Instagram because I’d rather take pictures than record videos, but I’m getting better and branching out so hunt me up on all the things.

Any current or upcoming projects you’d like to tell us about?

I finally get to say that I have a book releasing with Love Inspired! It’s been a dream four years in the making, and I love seeing God’s handiwork as He led me along this path. The Cowgirl’s Last Rodeo is a story that I’ve held in my heart for a long time, and to get to see it come alive under the Love Inspired imprint is a testament to God, faith, and a whole lot of hard work.
