What IS a trapper rendezvous?

Rocky Mountain Rendezvous is the story of four sisters who head west to accomplish their father’s deathbed request—return a special set of beads to a Blackfoot woman who saved his life during his travels west two decades earlier. The sisters head west with the supply wagons bound for the 1837 trapper rendezvous to find the native woman. But the sight that greeted them in the Green River Valley (in modern-day Wyoming) was nothing like they expected!

Men EVERYWHERE!

Supply wagons would come from the east every summer, and mountain men and natives would come from all throughout the Rockies to trade furs for the supplies they’d need in the coming year. This was usually the only opportunity for trading each year, so EVERYONE came and the camp stretched for miles. This was a great time for friends to catch up, and the festivities always included a great deal of drinking and horse racing. The rendezvous was a sight to behold!

In Rocky Mountain Rendezvous, Riley Turner is one of the trappers at the meet-up, and he realizes immediately what kind of danger the ladies are in from unscrupulous men in the crowd. He helps them with their search, and they find so much more than they expected along the way!

Share something your readers wouldn’t know about you.

Like many people, I’ve had a variety of jobs, but one of my favorites was training horses (and horse riders) professionally. I worked with many different breeds, but specialized in Arabians. One of the most unusual I trained was a big black Shire named Ben. He was so much fun to ride, and we even competed in a few shows!

What has been your favorite part of the publishing journey? 

Getting to know other authors is one of my favorite parts. J So many of these ladies were (and still are) heroes as I read their books before I attempted to write my first story. Now I count author friends as some of my dearest!

Can you share with us something about the book that isn’t in the blurb?

Does one of the main characters hold a special place in your heart? If so, why?

Each book features one of the sisters, and this first book is Juniper’s story, the second sister in age. I actually modeled the sisters after my four girls, so I’d planned for Juniper to be like my second daughter, Haven. As I was writing the story, though, Juniper took on her own personality!

Any current or upcoming projects you’d like to tell us about?

Oh yes! Right now I’m working on book 1 in another new series that will release in August. The series will be called Brothers of Sapphire Mountain Ranch, about six brothers who own a ranch in the Montana Territory, but their biggest secret is the sapphire mine on their property that supplies everything they need and more. To keep news of the sapphires from spreading and creating a panic akin to the gold rush, they allow no one on the property.

But when two sisters show up near the mine saying the oldest brother, Jericho, sent for one of them as a mail-order bride, something is clearly afoot. The older sister, Dinah, claims to be a doctor, and her skills are needed immediately when one of the brothers is badly injured in a wagon accident. The sisters stay on to help nurse his wounds, and sparks fly between the enigmatic Jericho Collins and the captivating Dinah.
