My Thoughts

The more Chautona Havig books I’ve read, the more I’ve come to enjoy her style and her voice. It reminds me of my own writing style and includes everything I love in a Christian romance novel. While the Independence Island books are novella length, I felt the story arc was complete. You’ll love the addition of Lucy, a lovable puppy, getting to see Mallory and Benjamin’s romance blossom more, and a major “whodunit” that becomes the focus on the story, as well as the “enemies to lovers” relationship of Bailey and Brooke.

There’s lots of fun banter between the characters, talk of Spiritual matters, and learning to grow in Christ since Bailey is a new Christian. I loved this introduction to Hooper Island, or known to the locals as Hopper, and I’m looking forward to the next five books that take place on this island. Independence Islands is a great series. Readers will enjoy delving into this southern community full of love and strength.

The only negative about this book is that I’m not a fan of the title. Other than that, I highly recommend Flipping Hearts to those who love the “enemies to lovers” trope, and sweet romances with Spiritual messages woven into the story.

I listened to the audio book, as well as read some of the eBook and both were enjoyable experiences.
