New! Memorable Monday #2

Welcome to Memorable Monday! The purpose of Memorable Monday is to showcase an influential book read in the past that still sticks with you today. This fun Monday morning post is hosted by my friend Becca at The Becca Files.

It’s been many years ago, that I read Though None Go with Me by Jerry B. Jenkins, however this book has stuck with me ever since. This story has been described as sad or even depressing, but I found it to be powerful and had a lasting impression on my life, so much so that it, in part, inspired my own debut novel (Whither Shall I Go). What if you gave your life to Christ only then to face trial after trial? What if you watched as all your dreams crumbled and disappeared? Would you still follow? I won’t give any spoilers, but I will say that I love the ending!!!

About the Book:

Though None Go with Me is a unique heart-warming love story of an unforgettable woman and her determination to make her life an experiment in obedience to God. Elisabeth Grace Leroy, born at the turn of the century, wants something more. Then one night as a young teen she finds what her heart has been yearning for. The defining moment in her life comes when she stands and promises to deepen her commitment and follow Christ, no matter the cost. So begins a remarkable journey of resolve, winding through valleys of loss and deserts of testing toward a legacy of faith. Two world wars, the Great Depression, and devastating personal loss form the backdrop for a lifetime of walking with God despite all odds. Though None Go with Me is a powerful novel depicting one courageous woman’s determination to stand faithful in all circumstances. It is a moving saga of forgiveness and peace amidst the loves, trials, and joys of an American family. And ultimately, it is a portrait of the far-reaching impact of a life that fully embraces the steadfast promises of God.

About the Author:

Author of more than 195 books with sales of over 70 million copies, including the best-selling Left Behind series, Jerry B. Jenkins is former vice president for publishing and former chairman of the board of trustees for the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago.

Jerry’s writing has appeared in Time, Reader’s Digest, Parade, Guideposts, and dozens of Christian periodicals. Twenty-one of his books have reached The New York Times best-seller list (seven debuting number one). Jerry owns the Jerry Jenkins Writers Guild, through which he trains writers online.
