I’ve joined my blogging friends for a new facet of my blog, called His Encouragement, inspiring scriptures shared each Thursday. My hope and my prayer is that these scriptures each week will bless your heart and encourage your soul.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1Corinthians 15:51-55 KJV
We were recently discussing these verses in Sunday school. I want to share with you something I noticed and shared with out class.
Ever grown a “science experiment” in your fridge or your kitchen sink? Have you ever thrown out bread or cheese because it’s grown mold? Do you frequently scrub the mildew from your bathroom shower?
Guess what! The scriptures give us hope!
It says, corruption will put on incorruption and mortal shall put on immortality.
Corruption=Incorruption
Mortal= Mortality
I think of these two things, corruption and mortal, as the two faces of death. We have human mortality and we have decay.
In these beautiful verses, God tells us that he’s going to do away with both mortality and corruption.
It’s all gone!!
Our God is going to put an end to ALL DEATH! The saved aren’t just going to live forever, but nothing will die. Not flowers, trees, or grass! There will be no more mold, mildew, or fungus!
Yes, this is a fun, silly way to look at these verse, but the Blessed Hope in all of this is that God is going to put death to death. There will be no more death or dying. No more pain and suffering. No more tears shed at the loss of a loved one. We have HOPE. Death has no more power. No more victory. Death is dead. And God (the giver of LIFE) is the conquering KINGS of KINGS and LORD of LORDS.
Hallelujah. Amen.

What a fun way of looking at this very important verse! I have also grown many “science experiments” in my refrigerator! Thanks for making me smile with your encouraging words!

My favorite part of these verses is the questions: “O DEATH, WHERE IS THY STING? O GRAVE, WHERE IS THY VICTORY?” I love these questions because Death can’t answer back. Death will lose. It’s great hope for the future and proof that God is SO good!

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! I love that you said: “The saved aren’t just going to live forever, but nothing will die. Not flowers, trees, or grass!” It can be hard to imagine an existence without any form of death or decay, yet that indeed is the blessed hope! Beautiful encouragement for today. God bless! ❤

Yay! No more mold, mildew, or fungus in heaven! 🙂
“O DEATH, WHERE IS THY STING? O GRAVE, WHERE IS THY VICTORY?” always seems to give me goosebumps. What a mighty God we have who has the power to overcome the grave! Hallelujah!
