His Encouragement #7- Perfect

I’ve joined my blogging friends for a new facet of my blog, called His Encouragement, inspiring scriptures shared each Thursday.

The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Psalms 138:8 KJV

Perfect. Not Perfect, but Perfect. The emphasis is on the second half of this word giving it an entirely different meaning. He will perfect that which concerneth me. He will complete. He will finish. He will accomplish.

And the best part, he will not forsake the works of his own hands.

Do you remember that children’s song, He’s Still Working On Me?

He’s still working on me to make me what I  ought to be. It took him just a week to make the moon and stars, the sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars. How loving and patient he must be. He’s still working on me.

Even when I fail over and over, his mercy endures for ever.  He hasn’t given up and he will perfect that which concerneth me. He’s not finished molding me and conforming me into His image.  I’m so glad that God is not finished with me. And this goes the same for you. God is not finishing making you into everything he desires you to be.

What scripture is encouraging you today? Share it with us!
