His Encouragement #3- Give and It Shall Be Given.

I’ve joined my blogging friends for a new facet of my blog, called His Encouragement, inspiring scriptures shared each Thursday.

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38 KJV

Have you ever felt like you give and you give and you give and you get nothing in return? The Scriptures promise us that when we give to others, we will receive something in return. This promise goes beyond that, it tells us that it will be given to us “good measure,” “pressed down,” “shaken together,” and “running over.”

However, you’ll notice that it doesn’t tell us when we will receive a measure in return. Sometimes, we might receive a blessing immediately. Other times, we might have to wait a while.  And for some giving, we might have to wait for our eternal rewards, but know that no matter how long it takes, God always keeps his promises.

Give to others. Show kindness. Lend a helping hand.  It will come back to you over and above what you’ve given.  We can not out give our God. He gives us greater blessings than we can ever give away.

Amen! If we are giving just so we can obtain a reward, then we certainly aren’t giving for the right reasons anyways! But most of all, I like when you say we cannot out give God. Such a true and powerful statement!

Amen! We don’t always realize the blessing we can be to others just by being kind and giving them a lending hand. We aren’t capable of everything God can do, but we can point others to God by giving Him the glory for all we do. Thanks for sharing this!
