I’m joining my blogging friends and am beginning a new facet of my blog, called His Encouragement, inspiring scriptures shared each Thursday.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;  2 Corinthians 4:17 KJV

My friend, are you going through an affliction right now? I’m sure it doesn’t feel very “light?” But the Scripture tells us that these trials we face are “but for a moment” in the broad span of eternity. It also says that these trials, these afflictions “worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”

Keep your chin up and keep putting one foot in front of the other. You never know the eternal purpose behind the afflictions life puts you through. It may be to encourage another brother or sister in Christ. It may be to be a godly example in front of those who do not know Salvation. What ever the reason, know that while the affliction may seem like it will never end, remember that it is “but for a moment.”
