Cover reveal for Crystal Caudill’s new book, Sung in the Shadows!
I love Crystal’s books, and I am ecstatic to participate in her cover reveal for Sung in the Shadows. This is book two in her Art of Love and Danger series, and I can’t wait to read it!
First, let me tell you about the book and this amazing author!
A historical romance with a focus on supporting those with mental illness
After the daughter of a famous opera singer escapes her kidnappers, the family leaves the music world and goes into hiding from the still-prowling captors. With new names and the father’s strict rule of avoiding the music world, Nora navigates life with a mother committed to an asylum for paranoia and keeping her family’s secret past from even her closest friends, all while quietly pursuing her own love of music. A new acquaintance with a composer brings Nora dangerously close to the past that haunts for family. Nora is left wondering, is she going crazy, or have her vengeful captors found her again?
Here’s the official blurb.
A historical romance with a focus on supporting those with mental illness
No one can know Nora Davis’s true identity as the daughter of the famed opera singer Constanza Brisbane. After an escaped kidnapping when Nora was a child, the Brisbane’s slipped into the shadows and changed their identities to avoid the still-prowling captors. But after Constanza’s paranoia caught up to her, she landed in Longview Asylum where she’s convinced that she’s a famous opera singer, and no one believes her. It’s here that Nora engages in secret singing lessons and avoids Ezekiel Beaumont.
Employed by Pike’s Opera House, Ezekiel weekly visits his suicidal ma in the asylum. As Nora and Ezekiel’s weekly visits align, he begins to wonder if Nora’s ma really is the famed Constanza Brisbane who went missing mid-performance. And he’s determined to find out.
When Nora is forced to make Ezekiel’s acquaintance, it puts the singing world a little too close for her comfort. As Nora and Ezekiel grow closer, Nora begins to fear that she, too, is losing her mind. Will Ezekiel be able to protect both his mother and the woman he is developing newfound love for from suspected danger—and the asylum?
With an intricately designed plot, Crystal Caudill lures readers into Nora’s dangerous secret identity and the chance for love in the world of music.
