My Thoughts

Trigger warning: If you aren’t able to stomach books about child abductions and murders or this element is a phycological trigger for you, you may want to avoid this book.

I have read three out of the five books in the Guardians Unleashed series, and each one has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Terminal Danger wraps up the final member of the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency and finally gives us the story behind Phoenix Gray, the mysterious founder of the agency. This, in some ways, was a hard book to read. It’s always hard when children are tortured, oppressed, and violated. This is also a redemption story for Phoenix, who has built a emotional wall against anyone and everyone, including God. She’s a strong, protective character, but in her heart she’s vindictive and vengeful. The ending was beautiful and also heart-rending as Phoenix is torn in two by the earthly perspective of “justice” and heavenly perspective of forgiveness. If you love romantic suspense, redemption stories, or deep Spiritual journeys, I highly recommend Terminal Danger.
