I’m starting a new segment here on my blog called Mystery Monday with Addie Masters.
Each Monday, I will share a mystery question, a riddle, or a brain teaser. Use the comment section to make a guess. The following week, I will post the correct answer and the next puzzle.
Answer for Puzzle #1
The children were born on a cruise liner. The first was born shortly before hitting the International Date Line on March 1st. The second was born a little after crossing the line on Feb 28th. Officially, the younger twin was born the day before the older. During leap year, that gap stretches to two days.
Puzzle #2
The Statue
A seller of antiques gains a statue and displays it in his antique store. A customer purchases it without hesitation, not even bothered by the $100 price tag. The customer informs the seller that the piece is one of a pair, worth many times more when sold together, and that he would be willing to fork over $1,000 if the seller can find the match. After the buyer leaves, the seller begins making inquires into the other statue.
Some days later, another gentleman shows up at the shop with the very piece the seller is looking for. He says he heard the antique seller was interested in his statue and would be willing to part with it for $300 dollars.
Is it a good deal?
Okay, amateur sleuths. Comment below with your response, then check back next week to see if you’re right!

I say no. The second guy is in cahoots with the first guy and brought back in the original statue. Therefore, making a $200 profit that split between the two of them still puts the first guy $100 ahead and never coming back to buy the “matching pair”.
