Today, we have award-winning author, Sharee Stover.

Colorado native Sharee Stover lives in Nebraska with her real-life-hero husband, three too-good-to-be-true children, and a ridiculously spoiled dog. A self-proclaimed word nerd, she loves the power of the written word to ignite, transform, and restore.

Let’s get to our interview, shall we?

• When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer? I have always been an avid reader, but I didn’t entertain the idea of writing until my youngest daughter was born. Although looking back, my childhood best friend had an old typewriter at her house, and I loved playing on it. So maybe I always knew?
• What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk? I’m pretty boring. I need quiet except for my radio playing softly in the background, a glass of ice water, and cinnamon gum when possible.
• Where do you get your information or ideas for your books? EVERYWHERE. Literally. Sometimes it comes from a TV show or movie, a book I’m reading, taking a walk, daydreaming, landscape. Ideas just pop up whenever they want to.
• What do you like to do when you’re not writing? I never thought I’d say this, but I love exercising. I run with my husband and our German Shepherd in the mornings, and we walk every evening. Being outdoors refreshes me even if the weather isn’t the cooperative. 
• What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books? Writing is hard work! But it’s incredibly satisfying too.
• What’s your favorite part about being a writer? Research? First Draft? Editing? I’m a research nerd! Often that sparks ideas faster than anything. But I have to be careful I don’t fall down the research rabbit hole for days.
• What do you think makes a good story? The best stories are about the characters overcoming struggles. When a character comes alive off the page, the rest falls into place. And I love including a canine hero.
• As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up? When I was in elementary school, I wanted to be a veterinarian. I have always been a huge animal lover. But I quickly discovered I don’t have the stomach for the medical procedures.
