His Encouragement #13- The Faith of A Child

I’ve joined my blogging friends for a new facet of my blog, called His Encouragement, inspiring scriptures shared each Thursday. My hope and my prayer is that these scriptures each week will bless your heart and encourage your soul.

I’m very excited to share my personal verse for 2021 and begin a new journey together through the Word of God.

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

Psalm 16:11 KJV

This leads into a theme for this year’s His Encouragement posts. Each week, I will look at another “path” found in the Bible. We will also look at verses with the word “lead.” I hope that as we journey together through these verses that we all will learn a little more about God and the paths he has for us to take in our lives.

Today’s verse is Isaiah 11:6 “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.”

This past week, my family and I helped our church put on a Vacation Bible School for kids in our church family and community. Did you go to VBS as a kid? What do you remember most? The only thing I remember is creating a Bible cover with puffy paint and a bracelet with the colors from the Wordless Book Song. Plus, all the old children’s songs, Stop and Let Me Tell You, and the Countdown song. What I don’t remember is how much work the adults put into the week long ministry until I began serving in VBS myself. I didn’t understand the importance of filling children with the word of God, but now, I’m so thankful for those who sacrificed so that I could learn of God.

Today’s verse says, “… and a little child shall lead them.” Children have such amazing faith. They trust 100% unless that trust is severely broken. They love unconditionally. They forgive easily. They are everything God wants us as adults to be in our Christian life. I guess that’s why He says in Mark 10:15, “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”

What spiritual lesson could you learn from a child today? Do you need more faith? How about humility? Do you need to love others without conditions? Is there someone you need to forgive? Could you touch someone with kindness? A kind word? A kind deed?

What scripture is encouraging you today? Share it with us!

Excellent post today! Children are awesome. They see the world better. I learn from my daughter to just trust God. She says it to me all the time with such child-like confidence. It gets me every time. 😀
