For 2020, I have chosen Isiah 41:10 as my personal verse. This lead into a theme for this year’s His Encouragement posts. Each week, I will be looking at another “fear not” of the Bible. I hope that as we journey together through these verses that we all will learn a little more about trusting God and rooting out the fear in our lives.

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Matthew 28:5-6 KJV

This past Sunday we celebrated one of the greatest events in all Christianity. Our Savior is alive! The tomb is empty! This is a most blessed thought. It means He has conquered death and the grave. He gave us hope where there was no hope. He brought peace where there was no peace. He filled with joy where there was no joy. Because He lives, I will too! We can live our life without fear because His resurrection brings hope, peace, and joy. Death has no more power over those who accept His sacrifice. Life is worth the living because it does not end with hopelessness, fear, and sorrow. Not for those who belong to Him.

If we trust Him with our eternity… shouldn’t we be able to trust Him with our tomorrow… and the day after tomorrow… and the day after that…

If He has power over death… shouldn’t we believe He has power over everything else that is happening in our own lives and in the world around us.

Because He lives, how does that change the way you look at life? Does it? It should.
